It is with great pleasure that I introduce your November Sullivan West Standout, Heather Hunter. Her nomination read:
“Mrs. Hunter's ability to connect with the students in her class is remarkable. She creates a warm and welcoming environment where each child feels valued and understood. Mrs. Hunter collaborates effectively with teachers and provides invaluable support in classroom management. Her positive energy, patience, and dedication allow her to support students with diverse needs.”
Mrs. Hunter has just recently joined our staff, first as a three-hour aide and now as a full-time aide in the Elementary school. While new to Sullivan West she is not new to education and has spent most of her life working with children in the school setting. This year she also took on the Art Club here at SW as she enjoys helping the children tap into their creative side.
Outside of school her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. She lives in Honesdale, recently remarried. At home she describes it as the modern-day Brady bunch with a combined family of six. The youngest two girls are in HS. Her stepson is in boot camp for Army National Guard. Her oldest daughter lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and her son is in the Army. He was recently deployed to the Middle East. Her other daughter goes to college at West Chester University.
Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Hunter!
