SW Video Club Newscast 1-9-2025 1-9-2025 Newscast Show Transcript hi I'm Evan and welcome to this week's video Club broadcast this week we'll be bringing you winter safety tips and did you know all with me but first the news today January 10th is Elementary School's end of interim on Wednesday the 15th there's a scheduled early dismissal for the district on the 17th Elementary School intern reports are on the parent portal Monday the 20th there is no school for Martin Luther King Junior Day enjoy your 3-day weekend Tuesday the 21st starts the Regents exams and they will run through Friday 24th on Thursday the 23rd the Board of Education meeting will be held in the high school library at 700 p.m. on the 24th the middle and high school second marking period will end marking the halfway point of the school year wow and now for winter safety tips and did you know winter is upon us do you know how to dress properly for the cold for chilly weather or temperatures that range from 21 to 42 degrees it is recommended that you dress with 1 or 2 layers of clothing an outer layer to keep the wind out pants and warm shoes preferably waterproof for cold weather where temperatures range between 25 and 40 degrees you should wear a warm hat at 2 to 3 layers of a coat and outer layer to keep the wind and snow out gloves 1 to 2 layers of pants and boots that are waterproof for extreme temperatures which is any temperature below 25° it is recommended that you wear a warm hat 3 of more layers with 1 insulin outer layer to keep the wind out gloves a face mask 2 or more layers of pants and boots that are waterproof now that you know how to dress properly for the winter you can enjoy the snowy weather and I can stay inside and sit by the fire did you know it takes about 30 minutes for Exposed Skin a 0 degrees or below to develop frostbite at 15° below zero with even a little bit of wind frostbite is possible within 15 minutes that's all for this broadcast I'm Evan and I'll see you next time
