SW Video Club Newscast 2-20-2025 2-20-2025 Newscast 2-20-2025 Show Transcript hi I'm Evan and welcome to this week's video Club broadcast this week we'll be bringing you a few did you know items and fire safety tips all with me but first the news the Elementary second marking period ends on Friday the 28th on Wednesday March 5th JV and varsity winter sports awards will take place in the High School auditorium the All County Music Festival will take place on Friday March 7th and Saturday March 8th at the Tri Valley High School was a snow day of Sunday March 9th good luck to all student musicians who are participating on March 7th Elementary School report cards will be on the parent portal and the middle school and high school 5-week report will be on the parent portal as well on Wednesday March 12th and Thursday the 13th there will be family teacher conferences at elementary school Wednesday's conferences will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday the elementary will dismiss early and the conferences will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday the 14th there will be no school enjoy your 3-day weekend attention students ages 15 or older Vacation Village in lock shelter is looking to hire lifeguards for the summer of 2025 get certified in CPR lifeguarding and first aid for any questions or if you wish to apply contact Michaela Sheen at Vacation Village you can reach her at 5166604319 and now forward did you know did you know that some states do not celebrate President's Day the states that do not celebrate it is Delaware Florida Georgia Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana North Carolina Rhode Island and Wisconsin however Indiana celebrates the holiday on December 24th and Mexico celebrates it the day after Thanksgiving also did you know that President John Tyler had 15 children the most of any US president and now for fire safety tips when the weather turns cold bring a chill into our homes portable space heaters have become a popular way to supplement central heating or to heat 1 room if you plan to use portable electric space heaters make sure to follow these tips and recommendations purchase a space heater with the Seal of a qualified testing laboratory choose a heater that has a thermostat and overheat protection place the heater on a solid flat surface make sure that the heater has an auto shut off to turn the heater off if it tips over keep space heaters out of the way of foot traffic never block an exit keep children away from space heaters plug the heater directly into the wall outlet and never use an extension cord plug only 1 space heater into an electrical outlet at a time space heaters should be turned off and unplugged when you leave the room or go to bed also did you know that half of all home heating fires occur in December or January and February that's all for this broadcast I'm Evan and I'll see you next time
